David De Gea was the star of the night as Manchester United survived at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium with a 0-0 draw in their round of 16 Champions League first leg clash on Wednesday.

The United goalkeeper made countless number of saves to keep the Red Devils in it, as the former English champions put up another lethargic display.

Mourinho had a good record against the Spanish side going into this game, and would have definitely expected to better that when the draws were made.

However, showed in the early minutes they would not lie down to be slaughtered.
The Spanish outfit dominated play and held the ball better, with the Red Devils struggling to conjure up any kind of rhythm. And even though no real chances were created, Sevilla was showing some very impressive signs.

United were struggling to assert themselves and the introduction of Paul Pogba for the injured Ander Herrera failed to make any significant improvement to their fortunes.

The first real chance was only created in the 45th minute, as a header by Steven N'Zonzi from very close range went towards the crossbar, but didn't get past David de Gea, who made a brilliant save.  Seconds later, Sevilla had another chance when Luis Muriel attempted to convert a lofted cross as he jumped high and headed the ball to the left side of the goal. De Gea, again, showed his brilliant reflexes and pulled off a glorious save to stop the ball from hitting the net.

The second half started like the first, with Sevilla dominating, even though United showed signs of improvement, but they were far from goo enough and after 64 minutes, the Spanish side had another chance, when Clement Lenglet leapt highest in the penalty area to get on the end of a cross from the set piece, and he produced a promising goal-bound header to the bottom left corner, but De Gea pulled off a decent save to deny him.

De Gea was proving to be the difference between United and a certain defeat, as it appeared the Red Devils were bereft of ideas in this game.
But against the run of play, in the 83rd minute, Romelu Lukaku thought he had given United the lead, but the referee sounded his whistle and disallowed the goal.
