Emerson Palmieri explains why he signed for Chelsea after his long-awaited switch to Stamford Bridge from Roma on Tuesday night.
The Brazilian defender signed a four and a half year deal with Chelsea and he was given Jersey number 33.
The former Roma star revealed his pleasure after finally completing his move to the West London outfit.
Speaking to the club’s website after the deal went through, defender Palmieri said: “I came here because it’s a great team with a great history.
“Today I am realising one of my dreams to pull on the shirt of such a great club.
“English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old. It is a really beautiful game over here but it is going to be even more beautiful to play it.”
Chelsea is still much more active in the transfer market, Roma striker Edin Dzeko is still one of their main targets.
